We are extremely happy to invite you to the Annual Conference of Association of Phono Surgeons of India – Kerala Chapter –KAPSICON – 2024, at Ananthapuri Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, on 2nd and 3rd of November, 2024. The theme of the conference will be “Neuro Laryngology”. No branch of Laryngology has made such huge strides in the last two decades or so. Understanding the detailed anatomy of laryngeal nerves and their innervation pattern, specific functions of intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the larynx and methods of micro neural anastomosis has led to newer avenues in the management of neurological dysfunctions of larynx. Unilateral and bilateral RLN palsy/paresis, EBSLN palsy, Laryngeal Dystonias and Neurological dysfunction of inferior constrictor muscle, in brain stem stroke are all now being better understood and managed, thanks to these new exciting developments.

Keeping in tune with these, KAPSICON – 2024 will be having detailed deliberations in this field. More importantly, there will be hands on workshop on various surgical procedures (Goat & Porcine Larynx), employed in the management of neuro laryngological disorders, like Injection Laryngoplasty, Medialisation Thyroplasty (Type I Thyroplasty), Arytenoid Rotation, Adduction Arytenoidopexy, Non Selective Reinnervation, Neurotization of TA, Midline Lateralisation Thyroplasty (Type II Thyroplasty), SLAD – R (Selective Laryngeal Adductor Renervation – Denervation).

Hands on slots will be limited. There are options for being Dissector as well as Observer. So please book your seats well in advance, to avoid disappointment. While all Otolaryngologists can attend the conference to update their knowledge and skill in this exciting new field, it is especially designed for laryngologists and laryngology trainees, as well as for general otolaryngologists with special interest in laryngology.
